Decisions, decisions...

I want another snuggle bunny to love. I miss Angus terribly and know that he would want me to love again.

Due to some personal variables in my world, I know it is not time to adopt my next furry child just yet. But I am looking forward to when it is the right time someday in the future. So while I wait for the timing to present itself, I can at least start planning. Right?!

Currently I'm evaluating three different dogs - a goldendoodle, a boston terrier and a golden retriever. What do you think? I'd love some input...

  1. Boston will stay small, Goldendoodle will need to be groomed regularly, Golden is perfect in my eyes, but does shed. ;)

  2. Joy, we have a three year old goldendoodle... and he is the sweetest animal ever!
i can't say enough good things. And goldendoodles do not need tremendous grooming- not sure who posted that. We shave Tango a couple of times a year....but a seriously low maintenance dog.

They do NOT shed! Really! After almost 15 years with a keeshonden (another great dog) I really wanted a break from the dog hair dust bunnies that accumulated under couches, tables, chairs... everything!
Tango is a 1st gen standard poodle/golden mix. Loves to cuddle, but he's athletic and I can run with him too. We take him on vacation to Vermont with us every summer and he LOVES it.
He's about 60 pounds.... but looks bigger due to the long legs... especially when his hair is long. Then he has a sheepdog look. He spends his day curled up in the chair behind my desk sleeping. Tough life, huh? I just took a picture that I'll post on my FB page...

  3. I would do a lot of research into all 3 of these breeds as far as temperament and predidposition to certain dieases and health conditions. The are all precious although the retriever will be large. But then again, you understand about LARGE dogs!

  4. I know how much you love Goldens. Unless you want a completely different breed, then I would suggest the Golden.

  5. I must say that the goldendoodle is at the top of my list at the moment. My cousin Gigi and my aunt Debi both have presented similar cases that make this breed sound very appealing to me. I'm thinking that I will get two so they can keep each other company. Time will tell... I can't wait.

  6. I think that most animal authorities advocate getting two dogs (or cats), for companionship. I think that would be a great idea! I can't wait to hear what you decide and to share in all the pictures of your new babies!

  7. Me, either! At this point, it is really just dreaming. With daddy's health, etc. I don't think it would be fair to have furry children. I'm the right time will present itself one day.
